YONKERS, N.Y. — A Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold at a Stop & Shop supermarket in Yonkers for the July 12 drawing, the New York Lottery announced Monday.

The winning ticket was purchased at the store located at 111 Vredenburgh Avenue. It matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball, qualifying for the game’s third-tier prize.

Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Players select numbers from a pool of 1 to 69, with the Powerball drawn separately from a pool of 1 to 26.

Winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.

The New York Lottery reports it contributed $3.8 billion to public schools across the state during the 2023–2024 fiscal year.
