York Road closed after crash downs power lines, PECO repair underway

Roadway Closed - The road has been closed. Police advice alternative routes.

UPPER MORELAND, Pa. — A vehicle accident on York Road between Fairhill Street and Summit Avenue has caused power lines to come down, prompting a full closure of the roadway in both directions, according to the Upper Moreland Police Department.

The crash, which occurred earlier today, left utility lines damaged and the area unsafe for travel. PECO crews are on-site working to repair the damage, but police warned that the closure could be extended until the repairs are completed.

No details have been released regarding the cause of the crash or whether there were any injuries. Authorities have urged motorists to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience as PECO works to restore the power lines and make the area safe,” the department stated in a social media post.

Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
