Yorktown Baseball Coach Wins $100,000 on New Year’s Lottery Raffle

YORKTOWN, VA – Andy Wissinger, a Yorktown resident and a baseball coach, won $100,000 in Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle. This win comes from the only lottery game he plays annually.

Wissinger’s ticket, #079504, was one of seven to win the $100,000 prize. The ticket was purchased at Wawa on George Washington Memorial Highway in Yorktown.

When he shared the news with his wife, her reaction was one of disbelief: “No way! No way!”

Other $100,000 winning tickets were bought in Henrico, Lynchburg, Manassas, Poquoson, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach. The raffle also awarded five $1 million prizes to tickets from Arlington, Fredericksburg, Leesburg, Manassas, and Stafford, and 1,000 tickets won $500 each.

Wissinger plans to use his winnings to pay bills, with no other immediate plans for the money.
