Young Child Struck by Car in Linden

LINDEN, NJ—A section of W. St. George Ave was closed temporarily last night following an incident where a six-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle. The accident occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. while the child was crossing E. St. George Ave.

The young girl was promptly transported to Newark University Hospital, where she is being treated for injuries that are reported as non-life-threatening. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported in the incident.

The Linden Police Traffic Bureau is currently investigating the crash to determine the cause and any contributing factors. The road was closed westbound at N. Stiles St for about two hours as emergency crews attended to the scene.
