Young Man Killed in Tragic Hit-and-Run in Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A fatal incident involving a hit-and-run vehicle in Southeast, D.C., is currently under investigation by the Major Crash Investigations Unit of the D.C. Metro Police Department.

The incident occurred on Sunday night at around 10:48 p.m. An unidentified vehicle heading west on Suitland Parkway struck a male pedestrian at the Stanton Road intersection in Southeast. After the collision, the vehicle left the scene. The injured pedestrian was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency care, where he later died from his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Kevin Wims, a 22-year-old resident of Southeast, D.C.
