Young man shot dead in broad daylight at Rankin intersection

RANKIN, PA – A young man was gunned down in broad daylight Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Oak Way and Duquesne Street, prompting a homicide investigation by Allegheny County Police.

The victim, described as a male in his late teens or early 20s, was found at the scene around 3:10 p.m. after a 9-1-1 call reported gunfire in the area. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Detectives from the County Police Homicide Unit responded to assist and have launched an active investigation into the killing. The victim’s identity has not yet been confirmed, and no suspects have been named.
