Young woman shot numerous times, killed in parked car on quiet Baltimore street

BALTIMORE, MD — A 23-year-old woman was discovered fatally shot inside a vehicle late Sunday morning, prompting a homicide investigation in the city’s Southwest District.

Officers were called to the 4100 block of Mount Wood Road at approximately 10:41 a.m. on May 11 after reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they located the woman inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to her body.

She was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival by medical staff. Her identity has not yet been released.

Homicide detectives are leading the investigation into what appears to be a targeted shooting. No suspects have been named, and a motive has not been determined. Police have not disclosed whether the victim was inside the vehicle alone when the shooting occurred.
