Coronacrime: People Now Being Robbed of their Unemployment Cards

LACEY-It’s not Venezuela in New Jersey quite yet, but the crimes are starting to make it look that way.  In the past, people would rob each other of their valuables.  Now, people are coming from out of state, to rob people of their unemployment cards according to a report by the Lacey Township Police Department.

Robbery- On Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at 7:41 p.m., Officers Brian Holt and Martin Julian responded to the Lacey Inn for an injured adult male.  Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who had a head laceration and reported that he was robbed.  The victim provided a description of a male driving a vehicle with out-of-state plates who stole his unemployment card.  The victim further added that the suspect brandished a handgun that was stored inside the waistband of his pants.  Detective Ewart responded and is further investigating the incident.
