Odenton Woman Killed in Crash on I95

Newark, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle that occurred at approximately 4:31 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2020, on Interstate 95.

The initial investigation has determined a Honda CBR 600 operated by a 30-year-old female from Odenton, MD, was traveling southbound on Interstate 95 in the left lane. A 2009 Ford Flex was traveling in the right-center lane of the four southbound lanes approaching the Chapman Road overpass. The Flex merged into the left lane of travel and into the path of the motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle attempted to avoid the collision but struck the left side of the Ford Flex. Subsequently, the operator of the Honda motorcycle was ejected.

The operator of the Honda was transported to Christiana Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Her name is being withheld at this time pending the notification of next of kin.


The operator of the Ford, a 29 year-old female from Woodbury, NJ who was properly restrained was not injured as a result of the crash.

Interstate 95 southbound was limited to the right most lane of travel for approximately 3 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
