“F’ that guy” New York Politician Says He will Violate Cuomo’s Thanksgiving Lockdown

STATEN ISLAND, NY – If I learned one thing dealing with New Yorkers, particularly the Italian ones from Staten Island, it’s that you don’t tell them who to invite over the house and who not to during the holidays.  Like a nosey uncle, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo did just that.   Cuomo just told Staten Island Councilman Joe Borelli he can’t invite more than 10 people over to Thanksgiving and he’s not going to listen.

Let’s start with, he actually didn’t say, “F-ck that guy” publicly, but we can pretty much assume at some point, those words were spoken somewhere in Staten Island once news broke about Cuomo’s holiday lockdown.

Borelli slammed Cuomo saying the latest lockdown isn’t going to prevent him or his family from eating overcooked turkey and watch the Giants or Jets blow yet another game Thanksgiving weekend.

“I’ll be having more than 10 ppl at my house on Thanksgiving. My address is public record. Some family will come from (gasp!) New Jersey,” Borelli said. “Kids will see their grandparents, cousins will play in the yard, sis in law will bring strawberry rhubarb pie, & a turkey will be overcooked.”

And so it begins.  The race to lock down New York and New Jersey has begun between New  York Governor Andrew Cuomo and New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy.  This week, Murphy announced a 10 p.m. restaurant indoor dining curfew and a complete shutdown of the New Jersey bar industry.  Not to be outdone, Cuomo called Murphy’s lockdown and raised.

You’ve all heard of dueling banjos?  New York and New Jersey appear to now have dueling socialists.

‘NYS is taking action to stop the spread in response to rising COVID numbers,” Cuomo said today. “Any establishment with a state liquor license, including bars and restaurants, must close at 10 pm. Gyms must also close at 10 pm. These new statewide rules will take effect Friday, 10 pm.”

Additionally, Cuomo put a 10 person limit on family gatherings during Thanksgiving.  That order would make a crime to have more than 10 people in your home on Turkey Day, so who is going to tell grandma she’s been uninvited?

Not to be undone or outperformed by Murphy Cuomo on-upped his friendly neighbor on the other side of the Hudson, now Mr. Murphy, the ball is in your court.  Are you going to take Governor Cuomo out-lockdowning your own lockdown?

The Second Great Lockdown War of the Hudson has officially begun!
