Berkeley man killed in crash on Westbrook Drive

BAYVILLE, NJ – The driver of a Ford Mustang that crashed into a utility pole died from his injuries after being rushed to Community Medical Center.   According to police in Berkeley Township,  on Sunday at approximately 1:05 pm, officers responded to the 100 block of Westbrook Drive for a report of a motor vehicle crash. The initial call was for a crash with a pedestrian struck.
Upon arrival, officers observed a one car crash, with the vehicle (Ford Mustang) resting on the front lawn of a home. The vehicle struck a utility pole prior to going on the lawn. The driver was ejected from the vehicle. Life-saving measures were performed on the scene and the victim was transported to Community Medical Center. A short time later the victim, Tracy Pierce 59 of Berkeley Township, succumbed to his injuries. It was determined that in fact no pedestrian was struck.
