A winning ticket that matched all five white balls was purchased in East Stroudsburg for Saturday night’s drawing
MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — A Powerball player in Monroe County is holding a ticket worth $1 million after matching all five white balls in Saturday night’s drawing, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery.
The Pennsylvania Lottery announced that the winning ticket was sold at Sunoco, located at 631 North Courtland St. in East Stroudsburg Borough.
The ticket matched the five white balls drawn — 16, 20, 44, 48 and 50 — but did not match the red Powerball number 15, resulting in a $1 million prize, less applicable withholding.
The Sunoco location will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Lottery officials said Powerball winners are not known until prizes are claimed and tickets are validated. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their prizes.
The Pennsylvania Lottery advises anyone who purchased a ticket for the June 20 drawing to check it carefully and sign the back of the ticket immediately if it is a winner.
More than 28,400 other Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball tickets also won prizes of various amounts in Saturday’s drawing, including more than 6,300 tickets purchased with Power Play and more than 3,800 tickets purchased with Double Play.
The Powerball jackpot has since rolled to an estimated annuity value of $312 million, or $141.2 million in cash, for the next drawing.
Pennsylvania Lottery players can purchase Powerball tickets online or at authorized retailers throughout the state.
