Police release surveillance image in search for two suspects
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metropolitan Police are asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects accused of threatening a convenience store employee after being asked to remove a scooter from inside the business in Southeast DC.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 3:55 p.m. on May 17 at a convenience store in the 4500 block of Benning Road, Southeast DC.
Investigators said one of the suspects entered the store with a scooter. When an employee asked the individual to leave, the two suspects allegedly threatened the worker and displayed what the employee believed was a handgun tucked into a waistband.
The suspects left the area before responding officers arrived.
Police said the employee was not injured.
One of the suspects was captured on nearby surveillance cameras, and MPD has released video and an image in hopes that someone will recognize the individual.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of those responsible.
