The Howell Senior Center would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Hannah Gumpert of Means Database who assisted the senior center in getting a donation of 3,400 lbs.of food from Kraft and Oscar Meyers today. The donation consisted of numerous types of cheeses that are in blocks, cubed, or string (Mozzarella, jack, cheddar, etc.), pork/turkey bacon and prepackaged deli meats (salami, ham, turkey, roast beef, bologna etc.).

There are an array of Lunchables, “Just Crack an Egg,” Sorrento cheese sticks and Sorrento cheese/meat/cracker snacks. The list goes on and on. The Senior Center and Howell PAL will be will using all the food to hand out to seniors and families in need. Thank you to Chris Hill from Howell PAL as he also helped to arrange the transportation for us to obtain the food and for setting up space at Puglisi Egg Farm for the food to stay in their refrigerators to take as we need.

For those of you in Howell who do not know, the Senior Center is continuing to send out Meals on Wheels Monday through Friday. We are in constant contact with our members and ensuring that their needs are being met. The Senior Center is also delivering food/supplies to them on a daily basis so that they do not have to go out to the store.

The PAL is getting food out to families in need in Howell and Neptune so having items like Lunchables are a great thing to give out to families with kids. The Senior Center is continuing to take donations of food and supplies as is PAL. We continue to work together as we do all year and are making sure that no one is going hungry and seniors aren’t being exposed unnecessarily if they do not have to be.
