15-year-old arrested with loaded firearm in Dorchester, police say

BOSTON — A 15-year-old male was arrested on Saturday evening in Dorchester after officers recovered a loaded firearm, according to the Boston Police Department.

Officers assigned to District C-11 were attending an event near Pleasant Street and Pearl Street around 6:55 p.m. when they were alerted by an unidentified individual about a suspect in possession of a firearm. The officers approached two individuals involved in a disturbance, at which point the suspects separated and walked in different directions.

Police stopped one of the individuals and, after investigating, released him. The second suspect refused to comply with officers’ orders and attempted to flee. Officers caught up to the suspect and, after he resisted a pat frisk, placed him in handcuffs.

A search of the suspect revealed a SCCY CPX-1 firearm in a fanny pack, loaded with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine. The juvenile was arrested on firearm charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
