September 9, 2024

BALTIMORE — Two suspects were arrested Saturday night in connection with an armed carjacking in the city’s Northwest District, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

The incident occurred around 10:35 p.m. on September 7, when a 36-year-old man was carjacked at gunpoint while stopped at a traffic light at Callaway Avenue and Liberty Heights Avenue. Two suspects approached the victim, displayed a firearm, and ordered him out of his vehicle, police said.

A description of the suspects and the stolen vehicle was immediately broadcast to officers. With assistance from the police helicopter, Foxtrot, officers tracked the suspects to Old York Road and Willow Avenue, where a 54-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were arrested.

Police recovered two loaded handguns from the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
