Teen arrested in connection to armed robbery and carjacking spree in Northeast DC

Washington, DC – A 15-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection to a carjacking and armed robbery that occurred last month in the Northeast section of the District, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The armed robbery unfolded on Monday, October 20 at around 4:42 p.m. in the 500 block of 56th Street, NE. Two suspects, one reportedly armed with a handgun, approached the victim and demanded his belongings before fleeing the area. The case was logged under report number CCN 25162028.

Just four days later, on Friday, October 24, a separate incident occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. on the 4600 block of Brooks Street, NE. In that case, a male victim was pulled from his car by a suspect who then fled the scene in the stolen vehicle. The vehicle was later located and recovered.

On Thursday, November 20, the juvenile suspect was taken into custody and charged with both Carjacking and Armed Robbery (Gun). He is a resident of Northeast, DC. Due to his age, his name has not been released.

The armed robbery portion of the case remains under investigation. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for violent crimes in the District.
