15-Year-Old Shot in Clayton, Suspect in Custody

CLAYTON, NC – A shooting incident occurred on Friday at around 11:00 am on Brittany Drive, Clayton.

Clayton Police Department officers arrived at 3006 Brittany Drive and found a 15-year-old juvenile with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim was transported to Wake Med in Raleigh, and his injuries are reported as non-life-threatening.

Approximately half a mile from the scene, police apprehended a suspect. Currently, investigators are processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses.

While the motive behind the shooting has not been disclosed, officers indicated that the act did not seem to be random.
