Maryland teen vanishes after last being seen in Germantown neighborhood
Gaithersburg, MD – A 16-year-old boy has been reported missing after disappearing from a Germantown neighborhood last week, prompting a public plea from Montgomery County detectives for help in locating him.
Yeison Romero Contreras was last seen on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the 13400 block of Demetrias Way in Germantown. He has not been seen or heard from since. Police officially issued a public alert Tuesday, as the case has now entered its fifth day with no confirmed sightings.
Contreras is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black jeans, black shoes, and carrying a black backpack.
The Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division is handling the case and is asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to immediately contact the department’s 24-hour non-emergency line at (301) 279-8000.

There is no indication at this time whether foul play is suspected. The case remains under active investigation.
