Larry Newman of Brick earned a state angler award for hooking a 27-inch chain pickerel on Dec. 14, 2015 from a kayak on Lake Riviera. He received a state Skillful Angler award from the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, which recognizes anglers who catch fish of “not quite record” size but large enough to have tested the angler’s skill and be worthy of recognition.

“He used 15-pound test with a TFO rod and a Quantum reel.” – N.J. Division of Fish and Wildlife
