TOMS RIVER-The money raised by the “Rebuilding Our Schools Initiative” referendum from earlier this year is finally being spent, according to the Toms River Regional School District.

Today, the district showcased the lighting renovation done at the John Bennett Indoor Athletic Complex on Hooper Avenue, more affectionally referred to as “The Bubble”.

The project was part of the district’s $147 million budget referendum.

The district, however, is still fighting the State of New Jersey who has cut millions of dollars of state aid from their annual operating budget.
