TOMS RIVER-After defeating Toms River East in the championship game of the District 18, Holbrook Little League is now working on their next step to Williamsport and the Little League World Series.

Holbrook took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Michael Kisseberth scored on an error and a wild pitch after getting on base with a single earlier in the inning.

The game remained a nail biter until the bottom of the 5th when Holbrook’s offense kicked into high gear, started off with Kisseberth hitting a two-run line drive home run over the centerfield fence, scoring Max Rakestraw who singled to reach base.

After shutting out Toms River East for 4.1 innings, striking out 7, Kisseberth was relieved in the 5th inning by Danny Hutchinson. Combined the two allowed just 3 hits over six innings.
