New Coronavirus Cases Down for Third Consecutive Day in Ocean County

TOMS RIVER-For the third straight day, new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus have decreased across Ocean County. The total count for Ocean County is 3,395 confirmed cases. Lakewood Township still leads the county with 1,040 confirmed cases, followed by Toms River with 556. The daily figures by the Ocean County Health Department represent only positives tests reported to the department and do not include those facilities not yet reporting or unreported cases that haven’t officially been tested.

For the 24-hour period ending 10:00 PM last night, another 682 New Jerseyans were discharged, according to the State of New Jersey.

How many people died from coronavirus? In the past 24 hours, another 251 New Jerseyans to COVID-19, bringing our total to 2,183 deaths. As of 10:00 PM last night, 7,618 residents were reported hospitalized, including COVID-19 positive patients and persons under investigations. 1,746 of those individuals are in critical care beds, and 1,650 of those individuals are on ventilators.
