SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ – While Philadelphia has a tourist gimmick steak rivalry between Pat’s and Geno’s, the real East Coast cheese steak rivalry is right here at the Jersey Shore. The three perennial powerhouses in Seaside Heights are, and in no particular order, Steaks Unlimited, The Original Steaks and Midway Steak House. Years ago we did a full feature on the rival which opened some deep wounds, but this year let’s keep it simple. We want to know which restaurant our readers think is #1. Now we’ve listed the three main players on the field in Seaside Heights, but that doesn’t mean our readers can bring in subs from the sidelines. All we ask is that the places are within walking distance from a beach or boardwalk from Sandy Hook to Cape May.
