Minutes after President Donald J. Trump announced to the world that he had tested positive for COVID-19, the left began a barrage of hate against the President. Many wished for his death and cracked jokes about his impending demise. They mocked him for not wearing face masks and wished death upon the President and those around him who also contract COVID-19. It got so bad, that for the first time ever, social media companies announced they would take action against such behavior.
On Monday, USA Today, one of the nation’s most liberal-leaning newspapers blamed Trump for the disgusting behavior of the left.
“Foreswearing our worst impulses doesn’t mean we can’t luxuriate in the irony. Nor does it mean we can’t recognize that Trump has done this to himself,” wrote USA Today columnist Chris Traux. “One of the worst aspects of Donald Trump has been his ability to corrupt our national life. Not only does he suck the integrity from his supporters, he encourages those who oppose him to live down to their worst instincts.”
Yes, Traux blamed the President for the disgusting behavior exhibited by the left, the Democrat party, and others since Friday, claiming Trump has lowered the bar so much in this country that he is the reason the left is acting the way they have been, ignoring the fact that the left’s escalating reactions of hate, violence, and division are actually their own doing.
He used a Star Wars reference in his story, “As any Star Wars fan can tell you, we damage ourselves when we give in to the Dark Side. The essence of civilization is that we master our strongest urges and do what we know is right instead.”
A more fitting Star Wars comparison would be when Anakin Skywalker realizes he has lost the support of his number one supporter, Padme. Padme was so disgusted in Anakin’s violent behavior that she died during childbirth, completely abandoning him.
“You turned her against me!” Anakin blamed Obi-Wan Kenobi.
“You have done that yourself,” Kenobi said. “Your anger and your lust for power have already done that. You have allowed this Dark Lord to twist your mind until now. Until now you have become the very thing you swore to destroy.”
The ending of the first trilogy is the most fitting Star Wars reference here, because it demonstrates how the Democrat Party and the left has lost touch with reality is guided by nothing but hate and anger. The left has become the Dark Side of America, leading protests of violence that has burned cities, killed innocent lives and destroyed the peace all around the nation.
