82-Year-Old Man Shot Dead Outside His Home in Raisin City

RAISIN CITY, CA – At 5:30 am on Monday, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of shots fired on the 6200 block of W. Young Ave. in Raisin City. Deputies arrived and found an 82 year old man next to a vehicle who had been shot to death. Deputies spoke with a family member of the victim who said he was outside checking on his property when they heard gunshots.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. They have not determined a motive for the crime and are working to try and identify a suspect / suspects. This marks the 17th homicide in Fresno County in 2020. Eight of those homicides originated in other cities and sheriff’s office detectives took over the investigations at the request of those agencies.
