Sheriffs Capture Man Who Escaped Gulf County Jail

PORT ST. JOE, FLORIDA – Police officers and sheriffs deputies have located Rex Arron Veasey who escaped from the Gulf County Detention Facility.  Veasey was detained for sexual assault and battery of a minor between the ages of 12 and 17 years old and false imprisonment when he escaped last week.  Within hours, he was back in custody thanks to the efforts of the Bay County Sheriff’s Department.

“The Bay County Sheriff’s Office arrested Rex A. Veasey, Jr., after a tip was received regarding his location. He was taken into custody without incident. He will be extradited to Gulf County for Escape – a second degree felony,” the department said.
