Richard Wilbanks, a 74-year-old Florida man jumped into a lake to rescue his Cavalier King Charles puppy Gunner from the clutches of an alligator.   Wilbanks said Gunner was walking next to a nearby pond when an alligator jumped out, grabbed the small puppy and dragged him underwater.  Wilbanks, with a cigar in his mouth, jumped into the lake, grabbed the alligator, and pried Gunner from the gator’s clutches.  Gunner was checkout out by his vet and sustained only a small puncture wound on his belly.
