Woman involved in domestic violence dispute leads deputies on chase through Hernando and Citrus Counties

by Shore News Network

Citrus County, FL – On November 23rd, deputies were dispatched to a home in Inverness after receiving reports of a domestic violence incident. When deputies arrived on scene, 57-year-old Joyce Holubec was leaving the residence in her vehicle and deputies attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to stop nearly striking another marked patrol vehicle as it was arriving on scene.
As the deputies pursued Holubec down South Pleasant Grove Road towards the county line, contact was made with our partners at the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). Both agencies responded to assist CCSO deputies, with FHP taking the lead as Holubec entered Hernando County.
Florida State Troopers were able to use a pursuit intervention technique, or PIT maneuver, to stop Holubec before her actions could cause harm to any motorists.
At this time, Holubec will be charged in Citrus County with Domestic Battery, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting an Officer without Violence, and charges are pending from Hernando County and FHP.
