SARASOTA, FL – The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate a shooting that occurred Monday evening in Sarasota. Just after 9:00 p.m., deputies were alerted to a shooting in the intersection of Desoto Road and Tuttle Avenue. Based on preliminary investigation, detectives believe the suspect fired nearly two dozen shots at the victim’s vehicle. The victim sustained several gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital where he is expected to recover. Detectives believe this is an isolated incident and there is no further threat to the public.
