Man Kicks in Door in Jackson, Stabbed Two Occupants

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ –  Another violent incident has rocked normally quiet Jackson Township.  An incident that took place on Friday, according to police ended up with two people being stabbed.

According to police, on Friday December 4, 2020 at 1:34 am, officers responded to a residence located on North Hope Chapel Road on the report of a female who had flagged down a passing motorist and was reporting that she had been assaulted at her house.

Responding officers located the female and were then able to take the male suspect, who was still in the front porch area of the victim’s residence, into custody without incident and recovered a knife from him during a search incident to arrest.


An investigation revealed that for unknown reasons, the male suspect left his residence located on North Hope Chapel Road and went to a neighboring residence where he kicked and punched the front door. The residents woke up but did not answer the door and after a few moments, the suspect left the area.

He then went to a second residence where he kicked the door, causing it to open. He entered the residence and encountered the 71 year old female resident who had been awoken and came out of her bedroom to check on the cause of the noise. The suspect produced a knife which he had brought with him and confronted the female at which time she sat on the floor. As she was speaking with the suspect, she attempted to get up at which time the suspect stabbed her once in the upper chest/shoulder area and once in the arm. It was during this time that a 69 year old male resident exited his bedroom and confronted the suspect and the male was stabbed twice in his arm. The suspect then walked out to the front porch area of the residence where he stayed until officers arrived.

The female was able to get to a cell phone and then exited the residence through a window, where she ultimately made her way to the road and was able to flag down a vehicle.

The male suspect was taken into custody without incident and a knife was recovered during the arrest. He was identified as Andre N. Hage, age 32 of Jackson, NJ. Jackson Police Detectives joined the investigation and charged Mr. Hage with Burglary (2nd degree), two counts of Aggravated Assault (2nd degree), two counts of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (3rd degree) and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (4th degree).

Both victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment for non life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation, Mr. Hage was transported to another area hospital for evaluation and treatment. Transport to the Ocean County Jail is pending a determination on his status.
