Two teens arrested for October robbery murder in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, FL – Jacksonville deputies arrested two teenagers involved in the botched robbery attempt that led to the shooting death of another.

In the evening hours of Saturday, October 17, 2020, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to the parking lot of 9400 Atlantic Boulevard in reference to a reported shooting. The victim, Laramie Bowen (White/Male 18), was located in the parking lot suffering from a single gunshot wound. JFRD assessed the victim upon arrival, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

JSO Homicide and Crime Scene Unit detectives were notified and responded to the area and began their respective investigations into the shooting death.


The investigation revealed that Bowen, along with two other suspects, arrived at the location together. The three were in the process of committing a robbery when Bowen sustained a gunshot wound and died at the scene. As a result, 14 year old Ryan Turner has subsequently been arrested for 2nd Degree Felony Murder in the shooting death of Bowen, Attempted Armed Robbery and Evidence Tampering. The third suspect involved, 17 year old Manning Kinney, has also been arrested for 2nd Degree Felony Murder in the shooting death of Bowen and Attempted Armed Robbery.
