DeKalb Police Officer Struck and Killed While Helping Another Officer at Crash Scene

DEKALB COUNTY, GA –  A DeKalb County police officer was struck and killed by a passing motorist while helping another police officer who was involved in motor vehicle crash.  Police say 22-year veteran Sgt. D. Mobley died from injuries sustained in Saturday’s incident.
“It is with heavy hearts we report that today we lost a 22-year veteran of the DeKalb County Police Department,” the department said. “At approximately 9 a.m. this morning, Sergeant D. Mobley was struck while on the scene of an accident involving another DKPD officer.Sgt. Mobley was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.We cannot express how much we appreciate the Grady Hospital staff who treated our sergeant.We thank theCity of Atlanta Police Department, Georgia State Patrol, the Atlanta Fire Rescue, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and all of those who provided their support to the DeKalb County Police Department.We ask all to pray for Sergeant Mobley and his family.”
