Indian River New Year’s DUI enforcement nets dui, drug and gun arrests

INDIAN RIVER, FL – On New Year’s Eve 2020, members of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office conducted a DUI and traffic safety enforcement detail within the confines of Indian River County. Over 50 traffic stops were conducted resulting in numerous citations, three DUI arrests, one drug arrest, and two additional, non-enforcement arrests.

Monique Hyatt was stopped just after 7:00 pm with her two month old infant in the vehicle. After an investigation, Hyatt was arrested and charged with child neglect, DUI, and refusal to submit to testing. This is Hyatt’s second DUI charge in the State of Florida.

Michelle Cosgrove was arrested and charged with DUI after she drove her vehicle, occupied with a passenger, into a tree. At the county jail, she provided breath samples of .293 and .269.


Natasha Holmes was arrested and charged with DUI after being pulled over around 2:00 am. At the county jail, she provided breath samples of .155 and .162.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is committed to maintaining the safety of the roadways within the county. Remember, there is always an alternative to and never an excuse for drinking and driving.
