LOVES PARK, IL – You can call it just being a human being, but in this day and age, many would just drive by without getting involved, but not one Public Works employee here in Loves Park.  On Friday, January 1, 2021, while plowing his route , Loves Park Public Works employee, Russ Caveny, came across a duplex, located at Meadows Edge and Windsor Road, with heavy smoke coming from the roof. Russ stopped and called for emergency services, then proceeded to see if there was any occupants inside. Russ was able to alert an elderly woman who was still inside one of the duplexes and assisted her, and her cat, from the burning structure.
