11 days, 11 Murders in Columbus for 2021

COLUMBUS, OH – There has been a person murdered in Columbus for each day of the new year.  The latest comes  after a woman who was shot was driven to the hospital by a friend and died a the hospital. On Monday, January 11, 2021 at 5:06pm, Columbus Police officers were called to 842 Leona Ave. on a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found 29-year-old Shaniqua Turner suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. She was transported to Grant Medical Center, in critical condition, where she was pronounced deceased at 5:27pm.
The investigation revealed that a friend of Turner’s had driven her to 842 Leona Ave. As Turner was walking to the front door 842 Leona Ave. an unknown person shot Turner multiple times before fleeing the scene on foot.
