Cape Coal man threatened kid with gun after dog rand into his yard

CAPE CORAL, FL –  The Cape Coral Police Department responded to a call of a male brandishing a handgun and pointing it at two adults and a juvenile in the 900 block of SE 31st Terrace.

The incident started when a neighbors dog ran into his yard. The owner and juvenile ran after the dog in an attempt to catch it. After the dog ran into Jarvis Daniel Minor’s yard, an argument ensued. During the argument, Minor went back into his residence and returned with a firearm and made threats of violence.

During the investigation, Officers determined Minor made threats with the handgun putting the victims in fear for their lives. Officers also learned that Minor was a convicted felon.


Minor was charged with Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon and being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The firearm has been recovered and entered into evidence.

Minor is currently in the Lee County Jail.
