Dover Police Arrest Three Teens Joyriding in Stolen Vechile

DOVER, DE – Delaware State Police arrested a 14-year-old male, a 15-year-old male, and a 16-year-old male, all of Dover, with receiving stolen property in connection with a stolen motor vehicle.

On January 14, 2021, at approximately 2:40 a.m., Delaware State Police responded to the 100 block of Karl Drive, Dover for a suspicious vehicle. The investigation revealed the suspicious vehicle, a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado was reported as a stolen vehicle on January 3, 2021. Upon troopers arrival, they located two juvenile males, a 16-year-old male and a 14-year-old male, walking away from the vehicle and took them into custody without incident. Upon taking the juveniles into custody evidence of white paint splatters were located on the suspects clothing. Further investigation determined the stolen vehicle had been damaged with white spray paint, and a third juvenile suspect was determined to be involved. The 15-year-old male was taken into custody without incident at a nearby residence.

All three suspects were transported to Troop 9 where they were each charged with the following, Receiving Stolen Property Valued Over $1,500 (Felony), Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony) and Criminal Mischief


All three juvenile male suspects were arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court and released on their own recognizance.
