BEAVERTON, OR – After jacking a sweet unattended SUV at the Basics Meat Market in Beaverton, Oregon, a car thief realized he also stole a child. Angry over the irresponsible mom, the thief drove back to Basics Meat Market. He gave the child back to the mother, yelled at her for leaving the child in the car, and sped off with the vehicle once again.
It happened around 9 pm last Saturday as the mother ran inside for a gallon of milk and meat.
“What she did was not a crime. She was within sight and sound of her child,” the Beaverton Police Department said. “But she left the car running, so take that extra step, take the keys with you. It’s a good reminder to take extra precaution when we have our little ones with us.”
An employee who witnessed the event said the woman was only shopping for four minutes before it and the 4-year-old child inside was gone. Despite his good samaritan work, police are still looking for the man in his 20’s or 30’s with dark brown or black braided hair wearing a multi-color facemask.
