CITRUS COUNTY, FL – The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a man who was pulled over driving a stolen vehicle.
“Yesterday evening Deputy Fagouseh was traveling on HWY 19 when he noticed the defendant, later identified as Aaron Michael Ganley, exceeding the speed limit…by a lot. 35 miles over to be exact,” the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office said. “While following behind Ganley, our deputy was able to run his plate, and surprisingly, the plate came back registered to, you guessed it, not the vehicle he was in.”
Deputies then conducted a traffic stop and reported Ganley was acting “quite strange”.
“He was making erratic movements, going in and out of his center console, and for the icing on the cake, sweating profusely.
For these reasons, along with locating a gun in his back seat, Deputy Fagouseh detained Ganley to ensure his safety,” the department said. “While detained, Ganley admitted there was drugs in the vehicle. Because of this, Deputy Amato and his good buddy K9 Calum responded to the scene to sniff things out. Well, Calum did the sniffing of course.”
Deputy Amato then did a hand search and located 428.5 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 30 alprazolam pills, 55 grams of marijuana, as well as multiple clear baggies, miscellaneous drug paraphernalia, and a Russian Rifle.
He was charged with 2 counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, 1 count of drug paraphernalia, 1 count of trafficking in methamphetamine, 1 count of possession of a controlled substance, and 2 counts of possession with intent to sell, manufacture, or deliver.
