Man charged for attempted murder in Forest Park Market Shooting

BALTIMORE, MD – Police in Baltimore have arrested a 48-year-old man for the January 13th shooting of a man outside the Forest Park Market.

What we know so far

  • On January 13th, a 32-year-old male was shot outside the Forest Park Market in the 3100 block of Oakfield Avenue.
  • The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his stomach.
  • The victim was able to recover from his injuries.
  • Until today the suspect in the shooting was on the loose.

According to police in Baltimore, the Northwest District shooting detectives were able to acquire video footage of the incident and were ultimately able to identify the shooting suspect and obtain an arrest warrant.  That suspect has eluded capture in the month since, until today.

On Sunday, detectives have arrested 48-year-old Gerrod Maddox of the 5500 block of Belle Avenue. Maddox has since been transported to Central Booking where he has been charged with 1st Degree Attempted Murder. Gerrod Maddox is now being held without bail until his trial date.
