TOMS RIVER – A blue line has mysteriously appeared overnight on Hooper Avenue in Downtown Toms River after the Ocean County Board of Commissioners rejected Sheriff Mike Mastronardy’s request last week.
Ocean County Commissioner Gary Quinn said the county could not paint a blue line because it violates NJDOT guidelines and the county could be held liable for traffic accidents in the area.
Overnight, somebody took it into their own hands and painted the line. It’s not sure whether or not Quinn and Virginia Haines will have the line removed.
An official within Ocean County today said authorities will be reviewing surveillance footage to see who painted the line.
