The integrity of the DOJ is at stake as Matt Gaetz sting operation leaked to New York Times

Robert Walker

NEW YORK, NY – Today, the liberal media is claiming Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz is involved in child sex trafficking. That report published in the New York Times comes after the Times was allegedly tipped off by a source within the Department of Justice.

Many on Capitol Hill think it’s just another attempt by the Department of Justice, the Democrat Party, and the left-wing media to perform a hit job on a rising star in the Republican Party and a possible 2024 presidential candidate.

Gaetz says somebody in DOJ tipped off the Times to kill the undercover operation

Gaetz flat out rejected the claim, saying instead he was part of DOJ investigation of a DOJ employee who was extorting Gaetz for $25 million.

“Over the past several weeks my family and I have been victims of an organized criminal extortion involving a former DOJ official seeking $25 million while threatening to smear my name. We have been cooperating with federal authorities in this matter and my father has even been wearing a wire at the FBI’s direction to catch these criminals,” Gaetz claimed.”The planted leak to the New York Times tonight was intended to thwart that investigation. No part of the allegations against me are true, and the people pushing these lies are targets of the ongoing extortion investigation. I demand the DOJ immediately release the tapes, made at their direction, which implicate their former colleague in crimes against me based on false allegations,” Gaetz said.

Gaetz said his father has been wired by the FBI

“My father has even been wearing a wire at the FBI’s direction to catch these criminals. The planted leak to the FBI tonight was intended to thwart that investigation. No part of the allegations against me are true, and the people pushing these lies are targets of the ongoing extortion investigation,” he said.

Gaetz demanded the DOJ immediately release the tapes, made at their direction, which implicate their former colleague in crimes against him which he claims are based on false allegations.

New York Times Changes Headline

The New York Times has already modified their story.

“Matt Gaetz Under Investigation Over Possible Sex Trafficking,” their initial headline read.

“Matt Gaetz Is Said to Face Justice Dept. Inquiry Over Sex With an Underage Girl,” the headline read as of this writing.

Gaetz said the investigation is extortion investigation

On March 16th, Gaetz said his father received a text message demanding a meeting with a person demanding $25,000,00 for making sex trafficking allegations go away. The FBI and DOJ launched an extortion investigation. He said the extortionist was supposed to meet his father to receive the $25 million.

What’s at stake for Department of Justice?

The Department of Justice has been under fire for years after fiascos related to the investigation of political figures and false investigations led by pro-Democrat members of the agency against Republicans. The DOJ needs to come clean on the investigation and if obstruction of justice has been committed by the Times’ source then charges need to follow. They also need to come clean about the Gaetz investigation if they wish to restore the integrity of their agency.
