BUFFALO, NY – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 18-year-old Amarion Taylor of Buffalo was sentenced yesterday before Youth Part Judge Kevin M. Carter to a determinate sentence of 5 years in prison followed by 3 years of post-release supervision.
On December 8, 2019, at approximately 6:40 p.m., the defendant was in the backseat of a cab when he pointed what appeared to be a gun at the driver’s head on Saranac Avenue in the City of Buffalo. The defendant forcibly stole $60 and a cell phone from the driver. The defendant pleaded guilty to one count of Robbery in the Second Degree (Class “C” felony) on February 5, 2021.
He also pleaded guilty to one count of Robbery in the Third Degree (Class “D” felony) in a separate crime. On December 20, 2019, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the defendant, while sitting in the backseat of a cab, tased the driver twice in the neck on Plymouth Avenue. The defendant admitted to forcibly stealing the victim’s wallet, which contained her identification card and an undisclosed amount of cash. This morning, Judge Carter sentenced the defendant to 2 1/3 to 4 years in prison, which will run concurrent to his sentence in the other robbery case.
