Off-duty Pentagon Police Officer shoots and kills two men he thought were breaking into a car

TAKOMA PARK, MD – A Pentagon Police Officer shot and killed two suspects breaking into a car on Wednesday after they failed to obey his order and attempted to flee the scene.

Takoma Park Police report that at 5:03 am. police responded to a shots fired incident in the parking lot of the Takoma Overlook Condominium complex. Officers were met by an off-duty Pentagon police officer whose name was withheld by police.

The officer stated he suspected the two men were breaking into a car and they failed to obey his direction. Then they fled and he opened fire, striking and killing both men as they attempted to drive away from from him.


Later, the two men arrived at Prince George’s Hospital where they both died from their gunshot wounds. The investigation is being handled by the Montgomery County State Attorney’s Office.
