5 things that can go wrong if Bill Gates is allowed to block the sun

Bill Gates wasn’t very good when it came to quality assurance when he was the CEO of Microsoft. Microsoft products, including Microsoft Windows operating system, have been known for their bugs, quirks, crashes, and their trademark blue screen of death.

Now, Gates is funding research that is investigating methods of geoengineering at the Harvard University Solar Geoengineering Research Program. The program is looking into ways to block sunlight from reaching the earth’s surface to cool the planet artificially.

Now, those researchers are asking the U.S. government for $100 million to continue their studies.

One of the technologies being researched is blanketing the earth with billions of tiny airborne particles that will reflect sunlight away from the earth in the upper atmosphere before it reaches the ground. There are plenty of reasons why this is a bad idea, but here are the top 5 reasons why this technology might be earth’s final “blue screen of death” if implemented.

Photosynthesis

The world relies on photosynthesis.

Everything on earth relies on photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the chemical process by which plants and algae absorb sunlight and transform it into energy. That energy is the foundation of the planet’s entire food chain. Without sunlight, there is no life on earth. What if too much sunlight is reflected away from the earth? Could it spark a famine of global proportions if the world’s crops can’t get enough sunlight?

Vitamin D

Sunlight naturally produces vitamin D

Sunlight provides humans with vitamin D. When exposed to sunlight, a human body produces its own vitamin D. Vitamin D is a natural body regulator that keeps bones, teeth, and muscles in healthy shape. Vitamin D deficiencies can cause bone deformity, rickets, fatigue, and even chronic depression.

The solar industry

The sun is a key component in most green energy sources.

Bill Gates is a proponent of renewable, green solar energy. The entire left in America is so sure of solar being the future, they are investing billions into eliminating fossil fuels and investing in solar technology. What happens when the sunlight is reduced and those technologies are operating under maximum capacity? Solar energy is barely practical with the sun at 100% capacity.

Dropping ocean temperatures

The sun is the primary source of heat for the world’s oceans. The heat in the ocean creates currents and waves. Those currents and waves worldwide act as a global air scrubber. Oceans filter and absorb carbon dioxide when they are moving. Lower ocean temperatures will mean less convection, which means less movement of the water, less filtering and this will lead to many more problems.

Unintentional ice age

We’re worried about global warming, but if we block the sun, we would wish global warming was still a thing.

How much is too much? How will we know when we’ve blocked the right amount of sunlight to pacify the liberal left’s agenda to geoengineer the earth’s climate? What temperature should the earth’s thermostat be set to? What happens if we make it too cold? It could usher in a new ice age or worse, turn the earth into an uninhabitable rock, covered in ice. There would be no food, no animals, and no people because all of this requires the sun in order to thrive.

Unintended consequences of geoengineering could have adverse impact on many of earth’s already fragile ecosystems.
