Man charged after killing one, critically injuring two while drunk driving

CORINTH, TX – William Blair, 23 years old of Denton was arrested and charged with Intoxication Manslaughter and Intoxication Assault following a fatal accident this weekend in the 6600 blk of IH-35 East. Officers performed field sobriety tests on Blair in which he failed and obtained a warrant for his blood.

Blair is currently in the Denton County Jail with a 35k bond. The deceased victim was identified as a 22-year-old Corinth resident, Gary Clark. The other victim, 29-year-old Gary Bennett of Virginia, is still in very grave condition at Medical City Denton.

On Sunday, April 25th at approximately 2:40 pm Corinth Police were dispatched to the 6600 blocks of IH35E N/B for a major accident. Officers arrived and found two male victims in the median of the highway. The two men were changing a flat on their truck when a black Ford hatchback left the lane of traffic and struck them.

After investigation, officers arrested the driver of the Ford for Intoxication Manslaughter. One 22-year-old male was deceased on scene and a 29-year-old male was transported to Medical City Denton in serious condition.
