Arizona election auditors seeking to debunk “China Ballot” bamboo paper conspiracy

A conspiracy theory is circulating that the Arizona Presidential Election in 2020 was influence by some 40,000 “China Ballots”. The theory is that ballots smuggled in from China and counted during the election will show traces of bamboo fibers used in Asian papermaking, but not used for the American ballots printed in 2020.

Maricopa County officials confirmed on Wednesday that a forensic audit will be conducted on ballots to rule out the conspiracy theory.

“We’re on a mission for facts,” said John Brakey, one of the auditors working in Arizona.

John Brakey, an official helping oversee the audit of the 2020 Arizona election, says auditors are looking for bamboo fibers because of a baseless accusation that 40K ballots from Asia were smuggled here. #AzAuditPool pic.twitter.com/57UOBYIehg— Dennis Welch (@dennis_welch) May 5, 2021
