Concerned Columbus family learns 63-year-old relative was murdered in his home

COLUMBUS, OH – The family of 63-year-old Randy Gwirtz was concerned about his well-being, so the called the police department to conduct a welfare check. What police found was a shock to everyone.

On June 7, 2021, at 12:17pm, Columbus Police Officers were called to the 1400 block of Fahlander Dr. S. on a well-being check. Family members became concerned when they were unable to contact 63-year-old Randy Gwirtz.

Gwirtz was found unresponsive inside his home & was pronounced deceased at 12:58pm. The Franklin Co. Coroner’s Office ruled that Gwirtz died as the result of a homicide and detectives are investigating.
