TOMS RIVER, NJ – There is an epidemic within the pandemic in the United States and that is a sharp increase in sex crimes committed against children and young women. During the pandemic, instances of child pornography, child rape, child abuse, and human trafficking have grown exponentially.
Now, Toms River Councilman Terrance Turnbach, a Democrat who also serves as a criminal defense attorney is under fir for the life he has chosen…one that enriches himself on the backs of victims of horrible crimes. But should you hold that against him? After all, somebody has to do that job and in America, everyone has the right to a fair trial…even if the Sheriff’s department seized your computer and you had 3,000 files of naked children on it. Even if you raped 7-year-old neighbor’s child. In America, you are innocent until proven guilty.
According to Turnbach’s lawfirm’s website, even if you are guilty, he’ll make sure you get the best deal available that is afforded by law.
Last week, after launching another ‘holier than tho’ tirade against his nemesis, Toms River Republican Dan Rodrick, Turnbach continued to prop himself on a pedestal at the expense of Rodrick. It has been a common theme since the two took their seats on the dais in Toms River.
Earlier in the meeting, Turnbach was praised for his work with the hungry. he was praised for his work with the homeless. He was praised for his outreach to the Jewish community. He was praised for his work with the public schools.
Rodrick finally had enough and called Turnbach out, taking aim at the lawyer’s chosen legal path, defending the worst people in society from the justice they deserve. Does his career path disqualify Turnbach for public office or does it discredit the work he has involved himself in over the past few years since taking office?
If you ask Greg Gutfeld, host of the Fox News Channel’s “Gutfeld!” show, the answer could be no.
“I’m starting to think food banks are just a way for rich white people to feel good about themselves,” Gutfeld said last Friday while on air.
“Being convicted of a sex crime in New Jersey leaves you a marked person, wherever you go — subject to sex offender registration, jail or prison time, substantial fines, separation from loved ones and lasting damage to your personal reputation. The real question is, was Rodrick out of line? Does it really matter that Turnbach represents the worst society has to offer? Does it matter that Turnbach is good at his job of getting people off? Does it matter that he is paid handsomely to block victims from seeing that their attackers are served justice?
More importantly is, does Turnbach’s recent trend of good deeds for the community offset the damages caused to victims at his day job? That’s something the voters of Toms River will have to figure out in November.
